We've had an action-packed day of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne here at WCG AU.  Gamestah was there for all the games of the Winner's Bracket, and 2 from the loser's bracket.

First up we had Fenn vs Bowt.   The format was Best of Three and this one went all the way - Bowt taking the first game but Fenn coming back to win the next two. Next we had a Team Immunity player, ForHelen, taking on Filthy.  Filthy's the number 2 seed and he showed it in this match, comfortably beating ForHelen in two maps.

Fenn's next game was against the other Team Immunity player, Glade - also the 1st seed for the tournament.  Fenn played the Warcraft III version of "Never say Die", mounting valiant comebacks in both games but unable to topple Glade's Night Elves, who took the match 2-0 in the end.  Glade kept going from there, and we had a precursor to the Grand Final - Filthy vs Glade.  Again the match only needed two maps and Filthy was bumped down into the loser's bracket, the number one seed, Glade, unbeaten in the tournament so far.

Coverage shifted to the loser's bracket from here - Glade only able to watch for the rest of the day while his Grand Final Opponent had to fight it out to stay in the tournament for the rest of the day.  We covered Bowt vs Wobbly - Wobbly clearly the underdog, begging "just kill me already" part way through Map 1 - and in the end Bowt's Humans were too strong for Wobbly's Orcs, taken the round in just two maps.

The 3rd place play-off also took two maps to be decided.  Bowt looked as though he'd be able to hang on against Filthy's human mirror but in the end Bowt's strategy of harrassment put himself on the back foot early on and he never caught up to Filthy.  Bowt took 3rd place, and Filthy booked himself a berth in the Australian Grand Final tomorrow.
