Gaming & Commentary History My online gaming started very late in life back in 2003 when a mate of mine said you should come and play Call of Duty with us, and it was basically hello online gaming world from there. Starting off in the world of Call of Duty Vanila in =ADF= I then got roped into a BF1942 Clan called -ASNL- where i got to be the master of all tanks :) Of course the game took a inactive turn as BF2 was released about a year after i started playing, so I decided to focus more of my time towards Call of Duty, jumping into the Call of Duty United Offensive Ladders. While playing i played with clan's such as 'Team Alias', 'X Clan', as well as creating a clan of my own called 'Coupe de grace', all teams seeing finals action in every season. The most memorable match being against AST while i was playing in X clan...was an amazing match, and have kitfox shoutcasting for 3 hours straight :) Moving into modern days tho, With call of Duty 4 comming out, I moved into a clan called Delta Brotherhood, playing for a couple of seasons with them before moving quickly into a clan call 'Rapid Gaming', even tho for a short time, it allowed me to scrim and play with the CGm players of Rapid Gaming, as well as having many nights of fun with the 'Envy' guys, now known as 'QMX'. Of course where my shoutcasting career started was back in the days of COD UO. When the game was loosing interest, and gamestah didn't have the casters to cast COD UO anymore, a fellow shoutcaster (Da-Man) came to me with an idea that we could do it ourselves. Of course this was completely nuts....so of course I said lets do it, so had a chat to a mate of mine (Veriton) who became my co-caster, running ourselves out of a freshly formed games review website called 'Touch Tek Gaming'. And of cause the amazing name we flew under was of course UOT (United Offensive Talkers). It wasn't long before Gamestah noticed what we were doing, with the marketing manager Sentinel handing us over to Rouge who helped with UOT becomming part of gamestah, bringing amazing casters like Da-Man and myself :P into the ranks of Gamestah. After being in Gamestah for a very short time, EJ knocked on my door basically saying, 'you know DOTA, we need you in singapore'.....and the next thing i knew was I was flying to Singapore to cover the Singapore Nationals, and the Asian Championships. Which was MASSIVE!!! And this has basically opened up the barrel of opportunties, having a return flight to singapore, a trip to New Zealand for their Nationals as well as a trip to Sydney for the Australian Nationals. And even more LAN evens happening here in Queensland, starting off with the HALO lan, and now a fantastic friendship being formed between LanSmash and Gamestah is going to make for alot of classy LAN's here in Brisbane, with the latest being SummerSmash at ANZ stadium. It is an amazing feeling to be an entertainer in the middle of the evolution of E-sports in Australia, and growth of E-sports in the world. It makes me look forward to the events comming up, the quality of the games, and of course the buzz that comes from every match I shoutcast. There is no greater feeling.
Favourite Moment in Shoutcasting: It was at the Asian Championships in Singapore 2008, DOTA was kicking off, with the crowds going nuts at the main stage. But of course, the team which I had met down at the New Zealand Nationals was there, and was upsetting all the teams but winning so many games they got into the grand final. But I had never seen such a high quality match as the semi-final match that NZ played on the main stage. Epic doesn't even come close to what the game was. That was possibly the biggest shoutcast I have ever done, and it is a cast never to be forgotten. And yes....there was a COD 4 moment there as well....but really....that is more a story from EJ and Glimmer :) Video: Gaming Clan history:
