Reading The Sydney Morning Herald this morning I stumbled across a 5 page article on the subject of E-sports, normally I would skip these types of articles considering generally they're all full of tripe written by journalists with no real idea of what they're talking about, however this time I saw that they were tagging along with iMmunity as a guest on their recent Paris adventure, and thought it might be worth checking out. Sounds like it was a good trip, i wish i could of gone... no wait i did :P Its great to see positive exposure for Aussie esport teams in the media, great for all esports!!!! |

Seamus Byrne attended the ESWC as a guest of Team Immunity. ^ Looks to be a good move, with plenty of coverage for both iM and gaming in general. The article was pretty positive in tone, and certainly more informative - albeit less sensational - than the Today Tonight-style coverage that gaming often attracts. The 'ceiling' mentioned in the article is a problem for many Australian sporting teams and athletes, because they struggle to secure the funding to regularly compete against the best. For those who follow cricket, it's something that's oft-referred to when discussing the plight of the associate nations. PS. Komm - Note the lack of 74 word sentences in that newspaper article... :P |
