Coming Live from ESWC in PARIS.

Team Immunity have made the 23hours trip over to Paris, France to compete in this years Electronic Sports World Cup - Grand Final. Arriving two days before the competition to help overcome the exhausting trip the boys are now ready to tackle the world in Counter Strike 1.6.

Arriving in the Summer Time for France we were expecting excellent weather but we have been greeted with overcast clouds and rain. Lucky for us blokes, none of that matters as the ladies walking around the streets will make you forget all about the gloomy weather. About the only danger there though is the possibility of getting whip lash every couple of seconds and someone points out another reason to move over here J.

The Event kicked off with an Opening Ceremony where the teams were invited to a listen to some speeches, mingle with the other teams and eat & drink plenty of food.

The next day (5th July) the first day of the competition started with hundreds of hopefuls from many countries playing several different games trying to make it out of the group stages. For the Australia team it was a day to check out the event, the various games, the competition and of course the ladies gamers (in the words of Borat – wowowweewah!! Some of the Swedish / Norway teams are hot… as players I mean…) as our first game is not until the 6th July (Today 10pm Australian time).

With 4 games to play in the group stages we need to finish top 2 to make it onto tomorrows (7th) games. With two of the current Top 3 in our Goup H, its going to be tough work.

Keep an eye on this link as there should be Live updates occurring constantly!

Everyone wish luck to our Australian representatives and hope they progress through to Sunday and establish Australian Gaming on the World Map!

Unfortunately I’m unable to upload pictures just yet, but hopefully soon.

PS. Unless you are only going to eat bread, wine or water it’s expensive over here… ie- a 330ml can of coke is 3.50euro (around $7) in most places!!!
