Well, its been a very interesting round 1 in the GameArena Season 2 Final Series. We saw some huge upsets played out and one team in particular have really stepped up to the plate. Now they have become a serious challenger for the title.

The results were as follows;

Redux Defeated clockwork (15-5) - Download Download: Redux vs Clockwork
core5 eSports Defeated sequentiaL Gaming. (12-8) - Download Download: sequentiaL Gaming. vs core5 e-sports
Bashing Services Defeated Team Modus Operandi (12-8) - Download Download: Modus Operandi vs. Bashing Services
imbatech Defeated High Caliber (14-6) - Not Casted

What this means for next week and for the rest of the series? Well firstly, Clockwork and Hi-Caliber have both been eliminated, both suffering losses in the round 1 elimination match. Core5 eSports and Bashing Services have progressed straight through to the preliminary finals, having wins in the qualifying final. Now for the other 4 teams, we have 2 semi-finals coming up this week, both for a place into the preliminary finals. These matches are as follow;

Round 2 - mp_trainstation

Team Modus Operandi vs. Redux - Hopefully we are blessed here with a cracker match. There is no doubting the pedigree of the two teams going into the match. Trainstation is going to prove to be an interesting map for both teams, with both teams have a similar play style. Of course I can't say too much about the match (as I'm in Redux) but no matter what I think everyone will be in for a big game and the winner will definitely have to earn it. Stay tuned to Gamestah.com for shoutcast information.

Sequential Gaming vs. Imbatech - This is also going to be a huge match up. These two teams are both able to put a team away early in a match and dominate the game. It is going to be interesting to see how both teams have adapted to the map and I expect to see some strong attacking strats, mixing different approach types all throughout the game. sqL will need to get used to the map as quickly as possible and then have their star players firing on the night, be ready for Circa to snap some heads on defense. Going to be a huge one. Stay tuned to Gamestah.com for shoutcast information.

Well, I suppose I should say that the team which is coming up in leaps and bounds are Bashing Services. Having put away mo* in the first round and reaching the preliminary final to play a comfortable map as toujane, I can see these guys stepping up again and perhaps reaching the Final. Competitors be warned BS are on the prowl!

So this is how we stand after round 1 and now for round 2 we have two amazing matches lined up, its going to be a massive week regardless of the outcomes.
