The time has come again for the top 8 teams on the CoD2 GA ladder to face off in the Season 2 finals. This seasons top 8 is going to prove to be perhaps better than lasts, as we have around 4-5 teams who are still prominent in the scene for CoD2. The teams to make it through this season were; Bashing Services, Sequential Gaming, Core5 e-Sports, Team Modus Operandi, Imbatech, Clockwork, Redux and High Caliber. All of these teams are, in my view, capable of progressing to the grand final, with around 4 of the teams strong contenders for the number 1 spot. The finals maps will be as follows; Round 1 - Matmata Round 2 - Trainstation Round 3 - Toujane Grand Final (best of 3) - Breakout, Matmata, Dawnville These maps are all going to prove to be great maps, with toujane for the semi-finals the pick of the bunch. Make sure you tune in for the two semi's on toujane as all teams in the top 8 are going to be very strong on the most played CoD2 map. In round 1 we find some very good matches, with 2 qualifying finals and 2 elimination finals. They are as follows; Monday 28th May Redux Defeated clockwork (15-5) (Elimination Final) - This match has already been played out tonight. The game was casted by Tobiwan & Punk, the cast can be found here - Download: Redux vs Clockwork Tuesday 29th May 7:00pm - (2) sequentiaL Gaming. vs (3) core5 eSports (Qualifying Final) - This is my match of the round and is going to be a massive match, both teams have been very good of late. Its going to come down to who sqL can front up to the match. If they can get their proper 5 into the server, then they're going to be a very dominant force in this one. However you can never count out c5, they have been keeping low all season staying in the top 8 and I feel finals is their time to shine! - Tune into the shoutcast tomorrow night from just before 7pm, with Sacrifice & Christobel. 8:30pm - (1) Bashing Services vs (4) Team Modus Operandi (Qualifying Final) - Another big match for round 1. Bashing Services came out of nowhere to finish in top spot of the GA ladder. Putting the top team and winners of S1, Sentinal's Angels (Team Immunity), out of the finals running and from here they never looked back, moving on to a demanding top spot. If they have been praccing this map, then I expect them to be very strong tomorrow night and could even knock off Modus. Modus, everyone knows their abilities, but are they still active enough to keep going in GA finals? Well, I would say if they can get 5 players together, and if AND1 and Elite can put in solid efforts, then they should be able to run away with this one, in a close match. - Shoutcast tomorrow night from 8:30pm, with Alfreido & Tobiwan. Wednesday 30th May 8:30pm - (5) imbatech vs (8) High Caliber (Elimination Final) - The last match for round 1. Everyone knows Imbatech are going to be solid on this map, being probably their best map. They will need to play their normal game and have a strong performance from key players, Jormumma & Pug and they should be able to take this one. High Caliber on the other hand, made it into the finals with a win in the last week of the season moving them into 8th spot. If they show some initiative and play some new strat's, then they could have a chance at pushing Imba to the end. - No shoutcast is scheduled as of yet. So its going to prove to be an interesting finals series with, as I said earlier, any one of 4 teams being able to take it out. Stay tuned to Gamestah for all the latest on upcoming finals casts. On behalf of Gamestah we wish all the competing teams good luck! |
