Aus Enemy Territory: Round 1

Aus Enemy Territory is new comp in Australia, where the players get to vote on the format they want, and also the maps they want for each round as well.

Being run by Ronnie, it has been created to make a different sort of impact in the ET community. Aus ET isn't about having a straight 6v6 stopwatch format. It's about about altering the formats. Things like MaxLives, Last Man Standing, where all players face off against each other, or even using a 3 map campaign!

The format voted on for the first tournament is 5v5 stopwatch, and with teams like Modus Operandi, Adversus, Ethereal, and Das Reich Elitetruppe competing, it's sure to be a good one to watch.

In the first round, we have Ethereal facing off against Denz's Heroes, Aussie Assassins will be trying to bump Das reich Elitetruppe, and Vengeance Star are hoping to beat Ministry of Skill. Team Ninja, formerly Stare Decisis (which is still on the GA ladder), probably have it the toughest with going up against Modus Operandi. Clique and Explosive Delirium are probably going to both try to lose, because the one who wins will most likely face off against mo* in the second round, and team.plus & inclined to kill will probably try the same thing, seeing as Adversus will be the winners next opponent.

Sequential Gaming and Adversus got it easy for round 1, with both teams getting byes.

Round 1 looks like it's going to be a real killer for some the lower teams, seeing that it is on Supply Depot. This is a map that has been extensively played by all teams, so their strats are already in place for ownage! :-)

All the matches are being broadcast via ETTV, at 202.51.171.91:27962, so jump on and watch the action as it happens. If you can't get on to ETTV, Aus ET also has an IRC channel where you can catch the action live with a bot that reports all the events as they happen. Currently on AusIRC, just click here to keep a tab on the match.
