Five Australian cities, eleven qualifiers, and over one thousand of Australia's best gamers have competed for the chance to play in the Ultrasone ESWC 2005 Australian Counter-Strike Preliminaries National Final. These gamers also are after an all-expenses-paid spot up for grabs to the ESWC 2005 Finals in Paris, France where they will represent Australia to compete against the top echelon of competitive teams in the world.
The Ultrasone ESWC 2005 Australian Counter-Strike Preliminaries began in mid-April, and continued through last weekend. Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane played host to three separate qualifiers each. Adelaide and Perth hosted one qualifier each. The winners and runners-up from each qualifier have been invited to the National Finals weekend, which is taking place at “TheBunker” in Brisbane, Queensland this very weekend.
